Some Area Fields May Need To Be Replanted

05/18/2017 - Some fields in the Thornton area may need replants. Craig Backhaus with the North Iowa Cooperative in Thornton says three to four inches of rain in the Thornton area Monday night might force some farmers to replant portions of fields that were flooded due to the heavy rains.

Backhaus says 99 percent of the corn, and 75 to 80 percent of the soybeans in his trade area have been planted, and that farmers are waiting for things to dry out before they can get back into the field.
