10/11/2017 - There is just over a week left before the cross country postseason officially gets started with state-qualifying meets across Iowa, and our local teams now know where they’ll be competing for the right to go to state at the end of the month. The only local 3A team is the combined IF-A/AGWSR program, who will make the long trek to West Delaware for the Manchester regional.
In 2A, Aplington-Parkersburg will have a long trip ahead as well, traveling to the South Central Calhoun meet in Lake City. Clarion-Goldfield-Dows will be joining the Falcons there. Dike-New Hartford is hosting a 2A regional, joining Hampton-Dumont and South Hardin at the Fox Ridge Golf Course. Grundy Center/G-R is the only other local team in the 2A field, joining the race at Pella.
1A meets will have lots of different uniforms running in each race, with many of our local teams heading to Eagle Grove next Thursday. Belmond-Klemme, Clarksville, North Butler, Rockford and West Fork are all headed to the Eagle Grove Golf Course for their postseason run. BCLUW will run its state-qualifier race at Pekin.
The Pella meet is scheduled for a 3 p.m. start next Thursday afternoon, including both 2A and 3A events. All other state-qualifying meets for our local schools will begin at 4:00.
