10/12/2017 - The final score doesn’t really tell the full story in the week 7 football game between BCLUW and Belmond Klemme. The Comets led 6-0 for most of the first half until a two minute drive by the Broncos tied it just before the halftime horn. BK shook off the slow start as well as the hangover of homecoming festivities to post 24 points through the final two quarters and the defense kept BCLUW from threatening to a 30-6 win. Broncos head coach Darwin Christensen says it was a change in effort and attitude that propelled the Broncos to their 6th win.
Fullback Tucker Kroeze averaged 12 yards a carry on BCLUW, finishing the night with 89 yards and two scores and the speed back, Sergio Suarez had 167 rushing yards, 65 of which came on his lone td. The 6-1 Belmond Klemme Broncos hold their destiny in the palm of their hands. BK needs to win the final two regular season games to reach the playoffs. Up first is the last road game in district play to Central Springs. The 4-3 Panthers running attack was even better than the Broncos last week at Lake Mills, getting serious yardage, 433 and 3 scores from running back Zach Santee and fullback Azik Hodak.
The Belmond Klemme Broncos visit Manly for Week 8 of the high school football season. The Class 1A district 2 game between the Panthers and BK has a 7pm kickoff.
