The Community Calendar is a free service for all non-profit groups, organizations, churches, and schools. The Community Calendar can be heard Monday-Friday at 10:30 a.m. on 104.9 KLMJ-FM and 98.9 KQCR-FM. The Hampton Senior Center will be playing BINGO Thursday 1:00 p.m.

Ann Wolf of Sheffield will hold a hosta and perennial plant sale to raise money for "Walk to Defeat ALS" Thursday 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. at 1002 Thompson Street in Sheffield.

The Community Café at the Hampton United Methodist Church will be open Thursday 5:00 until 6:30 PM. The meal is free and everyone is welcome.

The Parkersburg Farmers Market will be open Thursday 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in downtown Parkersburg.

The Grundy Center Farmers Market will be open Thursday 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on the Courthouse Square, downtown Grundy Center.

TOPS (Take Pounds Off Sensibly) will meet Thursday 5:00 p.m. at the Franklin County Service Center in Hampton. For more information, call 641-456-2304.

The Hampton American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts are looking for volunteers to help put up the avenue of flags Thursday 5:00 p.m. at the Hampton Cemetery.

The North Central Iowa Model Railroad Club will meet Thursday 7:00 p.m. in the basement of the Rock Island Depot at the Franklin County Fairgrounds in Hampton.

Ann Wolf of Sheffield will hold a hosta and perennial plant sale to raise money for Walk to Defeat ALS Friday 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at 1002 Thompson Street in Sheffield.

The Franklin County Food Pantry will be open Friday 10:00 a.m. till noon.

The Green Belt Bank and Trust in Belmond will host a Grill Out Fundraiser for the Wright County Relay for Life Friday 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Fareway parking lot in Belmond.

The Hampton Compost and Brush Site will be open weather permitting Friday 2:00 to 6:30 p.m.

The Belmond community flags will be put up Friday 3:00 p.m. Meet by the Belmond Chamber Office.

The Rowan Lions Club will be serving a pancake and egg breakfast Monday 7:00 to 9:00 a.m.


The Clarion American Legion will be serving a Pancake Breakfast Monday 7:00 to 9:30 a.m. at the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows High School in Clarion.


American Legion Post 285 in Parkersburg will be holding a Wreath Ceremony Monday 8:15 a.m. at Depot Park; 8:45 a.m. at St. Patrick's Cemetery and 9:00 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Parkersburg.


The New Hartford American Legion Memorial Day Service will be held Monday 9:00 a.m. at the New Hartford Community Building.


The Greene Memorial Day Service Parade leaves old city hall at 9:15 a.m., arriving 9:30 a.m. at the bridge and 10:00 a.m. will assemble at the Cemetery. In case of rain the ceremony will be held at the North Butler High School in Greene.


The Hampton Memorial Day Parade to the cemetery starts Monday 9:30 a.m., the program at the cemetery will starts immediately following the arrival at the monument.


Memorial Day Services will be held Monday 10:00 a.m. at the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows High School gym in Clarion.


The Goldfield American Legion will hold a Memorial Day Service Monday 10:00 a.m. at the Goldfield Cemetery.

The Aplington AmVets Memorial Day ceremonies start Monday 10:00 a.m. with a short parade on Main Street followed by a short program at Pleasant View Cemetery in Aplington.
