Aplington-Parkersburg alum Megan Johnson and the Central College women’s track & field team earned All-America honors at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships over the weekend in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
On Saturday, Johnson finished sixth in the 3,000 meters in 9:38.13. In the 1,600-meter anchor leg of the distance medley relay on Saturday, Johnson emerged from the pack on the final lap and narrowly slid past Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and MIT runners at the finish to take second in a school-record shattering 11:34.73. The previous mark set earlier this year was 11:41.47.
The Dutch placed 13th in the meet, the program’s second-highest finish. They’ll begin the outdoor season at a home invitational on Thursday, March 28.
