Bridge of Hope North Central Iowa’s 12th game show night will be held Saturday at the Church of the Living Word in Hampton.
Bridge of Hope North Central Iowa launched in August of 2009 as the community recognized the desire of churches to engage in meaningful relationships with families facing homelessness.
Linda Wharton is the board chair of Bridge of Hope North Central Iowa.
*Wharton #1 “…work with the families.” (:38)
“We’re an organization that helps homeless, single parents. It doesn’t have to be a mother it can be a father, too. We try to help them get back on their feet, provide support in the way of rental assistance so they can become self-sufficient, work toward putting money aside, get a job if they don’t have one. We provide additional resources in the way of case management to help with things like budgeting, access to community resources. We have neighboring volunteers from local churches who work with the families.”
The game show event helps raise money for Bridge of Hope and will be held Saturday at the Church of the Living Word in Hampton. Doors open at 6:30 with the trivia game beginning at 7:00 p.m. Light snacks and beverages will be served during the event.
