Petersen was recognized with the honor at Saturday’s IBCA Pizza Ranch All-Star Games at Dallas Center-Grimes, where she was also named to the all-tournament team.
During her senior season, Petersen led the Wolverines with 18.1 points and 10.2 rebounds per game on 55.8 percent shooting. She ranked third in Class 2A in points, rebounds, field goals and free throws. In leading the Wolverines to a fourth consecutive state championship, Petersen was named the Class 2A all-tournament team captain for the fourth time.
Petersen, who’s also a three-time state champion and all-tournament team captain in volleyball, will continue her academic and volleyball career at Louisville next school year.
