Aplington-Parkersburg Schools to host community facility planning presentations

The Aplington-Parkersburg School District will host two presentations in late April to update community members on the facilities master plan the school board has been working on throughout the last year.

Superintendent Travis Fleshner says data from a recent survey and some recent work by the school board will be presented.

“April is going to be an exciting month. The committee has finalized some recommendations. Now, we’re going to go out and seek more community feedback. We had a survey out to the community and had over 500 responses, which is excellent. We had great comments from people, sharing their ideas, things they like, things they’d like to see changed. The committee took all those things and re-thought some things. Right now, April 30 is kind of the placeholder. We’ll announce places and times, but our plan is to do presentations in Aplington and Parkersburg to try to make it as convenient as we can.”

Earlier this school year, the school board hired INVISION Architecture, which has and will continue to work with the school’s task force to help create the facilities master plan.

The dates and locations of the presentations will be finalized soon.
