The AGWSR girls golf team was defeated 203-210 at home by East Marshall Monday. Gabrielle Kruger was the top Cougar, firing a 44 for a runner-up finish, two strokes behind East Marshall’s champion. Head Coach Stacy Drake says each golfer seemed to have a hole or two on which they struggled, but 210 is a decent score for early in the season. The Cougars will join Oelwein at a triangular at Grundy Center Tuesday at 4:15 p.m.

The boys golf team defeated East Marshall at home 174-175. Gabe Nederhoff led the team by placing third with a 41. They’ll join Aplington-Parkersburg at a triangular hosted by Wapsie Valley at Maple Hills Country Club in Tripoli at Tuesday 4:15.

The boys track & field team placed ninth with 41 points at a meet at East Marshall. First place finish: Kaden Abbas – 110-meter hurdles. Third place finishes: Kaden Abbas – 100-meter dash, Aiden Heitland – shot put and discus. They’ll return to action Thursday at Hudson.

In other Tuesday action, the girls track & field team will be at the Hudson Girls Relays at 4:30.
