The Clarksville golf teams began their seasons at a triangular with Tripoli and Dunkerton at Red Carpet Golf Course in Waterloo. The only girls team to post a team score, the Indians shot a 279. The boys placed third by shooting 219, behind Dunkerton’s 191 and Tripoli’s 184. The same three schools will be at a meet hosted by Nashua-Plainfield at Nashua Town & Country Club Tuesday at 4:15 p.m.

After last week’s Dunkerton coed meet was cancelled, the track & field teams will begin their seasons at a coed meet at Nashua-Plainfield. Girls and boys head coach Darren Bohlen on what he hopes to accomplish early in the season.

“We’re going to use these early meets to kind of have our kids do some open events just so that we can post some times on Bound so that we got some seed times,” Bohlen says. “So that’s going to be kind of our focus and then we’re also going to maybe take a relay or two and switch them around. Kids might run a sprint relay on Tuesday and then come back on Thursday or Friday and run a medley or a distance relay. So we’re going to switch it up and we’re going to try to find a great combination to see what makes our team the best.”

The meet will begin at 4:30 p.m. and will include opponents from the Iowa Star, Top of Iowa and Upper Iowa conferences.
