Three AGWSR spring sports teams were in action Tuesday.
The girls golf team placed third at a triangular at Grundy Center with 234 strokes. The Spartans were second with 186 and Oelwein was first with 178. They’ll return to action Thursday at Denver.
The boys golf team placed second at a triangular at Wapsie Valley with a 186. Aplington-Parkersburg was first with a 168 and Wapsie Valley was third with a 188. The Cougars had no golfers place in the top seven, but still managed to top the Warriors for second place. The leading Cougar was Gabe Nederhoff, placing eighth with a 45. The Cougars will be at Denver Thursday.
The girls track & field team placed fifth at the Hudson Girls Relays with 60 points. First place finishes: 4×400-meter relay, Abby Veld in shot put and discus. Third place finish: Karis Lippert in 800-meter run. They’ll return to action Thursday at the Lady Wolverine Invitational at Dike-New Hartford.
