The Hampton-Dumont-CAL boys track and field team placed third with 128 points at Clear Lake meet on Tuesday. Top finishers included Gavin Meader in the 100m and 200m, and Gage Plagge in the long jump. In second was Colin Bird in the 400m hurdles, Scott Harr in the shot put, and the 4x100m, 4x200m and 800 medley. Scott Harr in the discus, 4x100m throwers, the shuttle hurdle relay placed third. The Bulldogs will be at Aplington-Parkersburg on Friday.
The HD-CAL girls track and field team placed eighth at Cowgirl Relays hosted by Clarion-Goldfield-Dows on Tuesday. In first was Charlee Morton in shot put and discus, and the shuttle hurdle relay. Runners-up included Lydia Maas in 3000m, and the 4x100m and 4x200m relays. Abby Drier in 100m hurdles, Lydia Maas in 800m, Addison Aalbers in long jump placed third. The Bulldogs will be at Aplington-Parkersburg on Friday.
The HD-CAL girls and boys golf teams competed at split triangulars against Garner-Hayfield-Ventura and West Fork on Tuesday. The Bulldog girls in Sheffield finished second with a 218. The Bulldog boys in Hampton finished first with a 176, Cole Rodemeyer was medalist with 42 and Tucker Heeren was runner-up with 42.
The HD-CAL girls and boys tennis teams had split meets against Nevada and fell 9-0 in both meets. The girls host Kuemper Catholic and the boys are at Grundy Center on Thursday.
