Iowa Falls-Alden Spring Sports Update – 4/10/24

The Iowa Falls-Alden boys track and field hosted and placed third with 149 points at Cadet Relays on Tuesday. Atop the podium for the Cadets was Jaden Damiano in the 100m, 110m hurdles and 400m hurdles, Carter DeBates in the discus, and the shuttle hurdle relay. In second was Will Henle in the 400m and the 4x100m and 4x800m relays. The Cadets will be at Forest City on Thursday.

The IFA girls track and field team placed 6th at Cowgirl Relays hosted by Clarion-Goldfield-Dows on Tuesday. Isabelle Janssen in 100m hurdles and long jump, Danika Rieks in 1500m and 3000m, and the 1600 medley led in first. In second was Lydia Nachazel in 800m. Cidni Phipps in 200m and Isabelle Janssen in 400m hurdles placed third. The Cadets will be at Dike-New Hartford on Thursday.

The IFA girls and boys soccer teams took part in a pair of rescheduled contests against Humboldt and Wright County respectively. The Cadet girls won 2-1 at Humboldt, led by seven saves by goalkeeper Abigail Janssen. The Cadets boys fell 3-2 at home to Wright County. Both teams will face Webster City on Thursday.

The IFA girls tennis team improved to 3-0 with a 8-1 win at Webster City. The boys tennis team won their first meet 9-0 at home over Webster City. The girls will visit Nevada on Thursday.
