The AGWSR girls track & field team placed fourth with 69.5 points at Monday’s Hudson Relays. First place finishes: Karis Lippert – 800-meter run, sprint medley relay, Abby Veld – shot put and discus. Third place finishes: Piper Smith – 400-meter dash, 4×200-meter relay. The Cougars will return to action Thursday at Grundy Center.
The boys golf team won the “Battle for Hardin County” triangular at Hubbard Golf & Recreation Center by shooting a 173, narrowly beating Iowa Falls-Alden’s 174. South Hardin shot a 177. Eli Kuper was the runner-up with a 41.
At Pine Lake Country Club, the girls golf team placed third with a 250. Iowa Falls-Alden shot a 230 and South Hardin won with 217. Tuesday’s golf meets against Dike-New Hartford were postponed to Friday. The Cougars will host Jesup Thursday.
In other Tuesday action, the boys track & field team will compete at Madrid in their last meet before the Drake Relays qualification cutoff. It’ll start at 4:30.
