Severe storms pound Iowa and the Midwest

The National Weather Service continues to gather information and evidence from yesterday’s severe thunderstorms which crossed a good part of Iowa.

Two storms produced tornadoes, one is rural Dallas County, and the other in rural Calhoun and Pocahontas Counties.

Other tornadoes were reported in Plymouth, Sioux, and Henry Counties.

Hail was reported in several locations up to 1 inch in diameter.

Wind damage was also reported, including in Hardin County, where a livestock building was damaged as it was being structurally repaired.

Winds gusted as high as 72 miles per hour in Stanwood in Cedar County.
