Latest U-S Drought Monitor Report released

The latest U-S Drought Monitor report shows that through Tuesday, the coverage area for extreme drought in Iowa dropped from 10-point-55 percent last week to 7-point-43 percent this week.

The other drought related categories remained about the same, except there were slight increases in the abnormally dry and severe drought categories.

Extreme drought conditions remain in eastern Cerro Gordo, all of Floyd, northeast Butler, and northern Franklin County.

The rest of the broadcast area is in a severe drought.
