A 28-year-old Hampton man originally charged with sexual exploitation by a school employee has entered a guilty plea to a lesser charge as part of a plea agreement with the state.
A criminal complaint filed in Franklin County District Court in December of 2022 alleged that Ismael Rodriguez Torres, who had been coaching girls soccer, and was also a paraeducator in the Hampton-Dumont School District, had a relationship with a female student.
This week, Torres entered a guilty plea to one count of lascivious conduct with a minor, an aggravated misdemeanor. The original charge filed against him is a class “D” felony.
A sentencing hearing was set for June 24th.
