Aplington-Parkersburg spring sports update – 4-29-24

The Aplington-Parkersburg boys golf team will take part in a quad meet at Gladbrook-Reinbeck Monday. The Falcons and Rebels will be joined by Waterloo Columbus and Wapsie Valley. The Falcons have won two straight meets, and are three strokes behind the Sailors in season nine-hole average. The meet will begin at 4:15 p.m. at Oakleaf Country Club.

The boys tennis team will have a tuneup before Tuesday’s conference meet by hosting Union. Coming off a 9-0 win over Webster City, the Falcons are 4-4. Union is 1-5. It’ll start at 4:15 p.m. at the Aplington Recreation Complex.

The soccer teams will play a doubleheader in New Hartford. The Falcon girls have lost three straight and are 5-7. Dike-New Hartford is 7-4 and has won two straight. The Wolverines have won all eight meetings, including a 2-0 win earlier this season. It’ll start at 5:00.

The #8 (2A) AP/DNH boys will host Senior Night against winless Northeast Iowa United. All five seniors are from Dike-New Hartford, so they’ll get a chance to play on their home field. AP/DNH is 10-3 and coming off a 4-3 overtime win over #5 (1A) GC-GR. The boys game will start at 7:00 p.m.

The girls track & field team will host mostly conference schools at the Lady Falcon Relays, the final girls home meet of the season at 4:30. The boys track & field team will face mostly conference opponents at the Denver Coed Relays at 4:30.
