The Dike-New Hartford boys track & field team placed second with 121 points at Monday’s meet at New Hampton. First place: 4×100-meter relay, 4×200-meter relay, Tyson Bennett – 400-meter hurdles, Jaiden Soppe – high jump, Dawson Dietrick – discus. Second place: 4×400-meter relay, Jack Hoehns – 110-meter hurdles, Jake Reicks – 400-meter hurdles, Jacob Feaker – 3200-meter run. Third place: shuttle hurdle relay, Logan Peverill – 110-meter hurdles. They’ll return to action at Thursday’s conference meet at Grundy Center.
The girls track & field team placed seventh with 62 points at the Lady Falcon Relays at Aplington-Parkersburg. First place: distance medley relay, 4×100-meter relay. Second place: 4×200-meter relay, 4×400-meter relay. They’ll return to action at Thursday’s conference meet at Grundy Center.
Drew Petersen scored on an assist from Lucy Varney with just over five minutes left in the first half, and the girls soccer team defeated Aplington-Parkersburg 1-0 at home. The Wolverines are now 8-4 and will be at GC-GR Tuesday.
In other Tuesday action, the girls and boys golf teams will join Union at a triangular at Grundy Center at 3:00.
