The Grundy Center boys golf team won a home triangular Tuesday at Town & Country Golf Club. The Spartans shot a 150, a season-low nine-hole score. Union placed second with a 169 and Dike-New Hartford shot a 174. Judd Jirovsky, Sullivan Dirks and Preston Martens each shot a 37 to lead the Spartans.
The DNH/AP girls won their triangular with 181 strokes. The Spartans shot a 188 and Union was third with a 221. DNH/AP’s Maryn Bixby was the medalist with a 43, and teammate Keely Kauten was the runner-up with a 44. Leah Larson led the Spartans, placing third with a 45.
The boys teams will return to action at Thursday’s conference meet at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course in Cedar Falls. The girls teams will next compete at Friday’s The Schupbach Classic at Grundy Center.
