Monday, the Hampton City Council held a workshop meeting and reviewed a drafted mobile food vendor ordinance. City manager Ron Dunt noted the draft did not include anything regarding noise and that noise could be addressed in a separate ordinance. After discussion, the consensus of the council was to hold the first reading of the mobile food vendor ordinance during Thursday’s regular meeting and to discuss a noise ordinance at a future workshop meeting.

In other business, the Hampton City Council met with Kathy Zobrist, the Child Nutrition Director for Hampton-Dumont, who requested permission from the council to use Band Shell Park and Progress Park for summertime lunch distribution sites. The consensus of the council was to have the item on the agenda during Thursday’s regular meeting.
