The Hampton-Dumont-CAL girls and boys soccer teams split their matches against Garner-Hayfield-Ventura on Monday. The Bulldog girls lost 10-0 at the #15(2A) Cardinals. The Bulldog boys had an exciting 2-1 win over GHV to move back above .500 at 7-6 overall on senior night.

Boys Soccer Head Coach Danielle Arana says bonding with the team is important and senior recognition was special.

“Most of them have been playing for many years and I create such a bond with all of them,” says Arana. “I just love having that moment with all of them and even the newer players and the foreign exchange students. We just take so much time during the season to really get to know each other on the bus, before games after games and all of that kind of stuff. I just I love those little moments.”

Both teams close the regular season against Clear Lake on Friday.

The HD-CAL boys and girls golf teams competed in separate North Central Conference tournaments on Monday. The boys placed 6th with a 350 at the Fort Dodge Country Club. Tucker Heeren turned in a North Central all-conference round finishing 7th. The girls were 3rd with a 416 at Cedar Pointe Golf Course in Boone. Madison Lindaman was 3rd and Kenzie Moorehead finished 7th to earn NCC all-conference honors.
