Girls tennis state qualifying singles & doubles tournaments were held Monday, and several local student-athletes placed either first or second to qualify for the Class 1A state tournament.
Region 6 at Decorah:
Adria Neymeyer, Aplington-Parkersburg – singles champion
Peyton Klooster, Aplington-Parkersburg – singles runner-up
Region 5 at Waterloo Columbus:
Claire McCumber, Dike-New Hartford – singles runner-up
Izzy Norton/Aida Tott, Dike-New Hartford – doubles champion
Peyton Benson/Abby Teske, South Hardin – doubles runner-up
The Class 1A state singles and doubles tournament will be Friday, May 24 and Saturday, May 25 in Iowa City.
