Officials with the Iowa Valley Community College District say the district is launching a new Healthcare Apprenticeship Program, offering individuals a unique pathway to a career in the healthcare field.
This earn-while-you-learn program combines on-the-job training with classroom instruction, providing students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed.
The apprenticeship programs will include Medical Assisting, Nurse Aid, and Phlebotomy.
Depending on the chosen program, it will take 1-2 years to complete, with 2-thousand hours per year of on-the-job training, 144 hours per year of classroom instruction, with flexible options.
The Iowa Valley Community College District includes Marshalltown Community College and Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls.
