Drought Conditions Continue to Improve in Iowa

The latest U.S. Drought Monitor Report released Thursday shows that 40.30 percent of Iowa is now drought free.
The number increased from last week’s 30.11 percent.
There are no extreme drought conditions listed in the state this week. Last week, 2.44 percent of the state was in an extreme drought.
In the broadcast area, eastern Franklin, most of Butler, northeastern Hardin, northwestern Grundy, eastern Cerro Gordo and all of Floyd counties are in a severe drought.
The rest of the broadcast area is in a moderate drought except for southwestern Hardin and western Wright County, where abnormally dry conditions are reported.
