Boys golf sectional meets were held statewide Wednesday, and some local teams advanced to district play.

At the 1A sectional at St. Edmond, West Fork was the champion with 325 strokes to advance to the district meet at Gehlen Catholic. AGWSR placed fourth.
North Butler placed second with 340 strokes at the 1A sectional at Lake Mills, which qualified them for the district meet at Newman Catholic. Clarksville placed seventh.

Aplington-Parkersburg was the champion with 297 strokes at the 2A sectional at North Fayette Valley, advancing them to the district meet at Dike-New Hartford. Jace Pruisner was the medalist with a 69.

Dike-New Hartford placed third with 335 strokes, but because hosting Columbus Catholic placed first, the Wolverines advanced to the district meet as the third place team. They’ll host that district meet. Belmond-Klemme tied for fourth and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows placed seventh.

Grundy Center was the champion with 297 strokes at the 2A sectional at Roland-Story. Preston Martens tied for medalist honors with a 69.
At the 3A sectional at Humboldt, Iowa Falls-Alden placed fifth and Hampton-Dumont-CAL placed sixth.

The district meets will be Monday, May 13.
