Two AGWSR senior student-athletes signed letters of intent to join college athletic programs.
Kaden Abbas will join the football team at Central College in Pella.
“It’s been something I’ve been thinking about for a long time,” Abbas says. “And I mean, it’s really hard to just finally make a decision, like a final decision, for the next four years of your life. So yeah, it’s definitely a big weight off my shoulders just to know something, at least for a first year and just go from there. Our PE teacher went there for a little while and he said the head coach is just a great person and all the other coaches I’ve talked with are really nice and have been super helpful, always responding to my texts when I asked them a question. The campus around is also really nice. And it’s a small town, not super crazy or anything like that. I really enjoyed it down there when I went there.”
Abbas played running back and linebacker, but says he’ll likely focus on defense when he joins the program.
Catelynn Koop signed with the women’s basketball program at Emmaus Bible College in Dubuque. She was a forward/guard in high school.
