A free concert by the Shades of Blue Jazz Ensemble of the United States Air Force Band of Mid-America will be held June 8th in Alden at the elementary school gym.

Local organizer Jeff Fiscus tells Radio on the Go News he hopes to attract a good size crowd.

“Larger band in 2004 performed at the Iowa Falls Gym and that brought a crowd of about 3,000. I’m hoping for a crowd between 1,500 and 2,000 to come to the jazz band.”

Fiscus says many have come forward to help prepare for the event.

“All the band directors have agreed to be ushers. I’ll have Legion as color guards to present the colors that day. I also contacted the Iowa Falls Fire Department. They have an aerial that has a huge flag that flies below the aerial. They’re agreed to come to town that evening and set that up over the street where people will enter the school. So everybody’s getting on board.”

The free concert by the Shades of Blue Jazz Ensemble will be held Saturday, June 8th beginning at 7pm at the Alden Elementary School Gym.
