The Greene City Council this week voted 4-1 in approving the first reading of an ordinance amendment concerning the water rates.
The amendment calls for a 3 percent increase in the water rates. For example, the projected 3 percent increase for a 2-thousand gallon minimum user would cost an additional 52 cents per month.
The Greene City Council also approved the painting on the outside of the swimming pool pending grant dollars to be collected for the project.
