Over half of Iowa is now listed as being drought free.

The latest U-S Drought Monitor Report shows that 52-point-54 percent of the state is drought free this week, compared to 40-point-3 percent last week.

The remaining coverage areas for the drought categories of abnormally dry, moderate drought, and severe drought all decreased in the past week.

In the broadcast area, no drought conditions are listed for northwestern Hancock County. Abnormally dry is listed for southwestern Wright, the southern one half of Hardin, and most of Grundy County.

The rest of the local area is in either a moderate or severe drought.
