The Alden City Council this week discussed an Iowa Department of Natural Resources Lead and Copper Rule Survey.
The company “120Water” has been talking with city officials about a program and mapping of the city’s lead and copper lines to residential properties.
The city had sent a survey out last year, knowing about the implementation of the new rules and regulations that had been adopted by the U-S Environmental Protection Agency and the Iowa DNR.
This system will allow the city to update the maps as more lines are discovered and this is done by address.
The Alden City Council approved the purchase of the “120Water” mapping system.
