Mulder fifth, Spartans 10th at Girls State Golf

The girls state golf tournaments concluded Friday.

At the Class 1A meet in Marshalltown, Reagan Mulder of North Butler used an improved second round to place fifth. She shot an 88 in Round 1, and shaved off eight strokes to shoot an 80 in Round 2 for a total of 168. Teammate Ella Lindell tied for 56th place with a 208.

In Class 2A in Boone, Grundy Center placed 10th with a 796. The Spartans shot a 394 in Round 1 and a 402 in Round 2. Avery Knutsen led the Spartans by tying for 44th place with a 194, Holly Lubbert placed 51st with a 199, Isabelle Ruth tied for 54th with a 201, Leah Larson tied for 56th with a 202, Ashlyn Kuiper placed 61st with a 211 and Kahlynn Draper placed 68th with a 227.

Iowa Falls-Alden’s Olivia French placed 19th with a 173. She shot an 89 in Round 1 and 84 in Round 2.

South Hardin’s Bella Keaveny tied for 44th place with a 194. She shot a 97 in both rounds.
