The Hampton-Dumont-CAL softball and baseball teams will look for a strong finish to May, as softball plays three games and baseball plays four games to close out the week.
The 1-1 HD-CAL softball team will host 0-4 AGWSR on Tuesday. The Bulldogs enter off a win over Nashua-Plainfield and loss to Humboldt last week. Charlee Morton leads the Bulldogs at the plate with four hits and 6 RBI. Brylea Metzgar has stepped in the circle for the Cougars with 7 strikeouts, a 5.53 ERA in 19 innings. AGWSR won last year’s meeting 7-6 in Ackley.
First pitch is at 7:30 p.m. in Hampton.
The 0-6 HD-CAL baseball team travels to #2(2A) West Marshall. The Bulldogs in last game fell to Humboldt 12-5 on Friday. The Bulldogs remain at work to find groove in the batter’s box averaging 3.5 runs per game. Pitcher Jaxon Moats leads the team in strikeouts with 14 in 11 innings.
First pitch is at 7:30 p.m. at State Center.
