The Hampton-Dumont-CAL softball and baseball teams will return to North Central Conference play with a midweek matchup against Clarion-Goldfield-Dows on Wednesday.
The HD-CAL softball team moved to 1-2 following a 11-7 home loss to AGWSR on Tuesday. AGWSR put together an 8 run first inning and the Bulldogs had a late six run rally between the 5th and 6th inning but were kept from taking back the lead. Teaghan Bird and Charlee Morton each had 2 RBI apiece for the Bulldogs. CGD at 0-2 enters off a 15-7 home loss to South Hamilton on Tuesday. In the circle for the Cowgirls Nyla Wibholm had 10 strikeouts in 6 innings and for an ERA of 3.50 against the Hawks.
The HD-CAL baseball team slid to 0-7 after a 12-1 loss at #2(2A) West Marshall on Tuesday. West Marshall scored 11 of their 12 runs between the 3rd and 4th innings. CGD at 2-2 won their last outing 13-11 over West Bend-Mallard on Thursday. The Cowboy’s Carson Nesheim is a steady force at the plate and leads on the hill with 26 strikeouts and an ERA of 3.00 in 11 ⅔ innings.
First pitch for both games is at 7:30 p.m. in Hampton
