This week the Wright County Board of Supervisors discussed a proposed resolution that will appear on next week’s meeting agenda.

This is Wright County Supervisor Dean Kluss.

“Objecting to the Iowa utility board’s authority to enact eminent domain within Wright County for privately owned or operated carbon dioxide pipelines. And I have amended that resolution. I have reviewed it where it refers to Iowa code.”

Kluss says he has been in contact with an attorney representing Wright County and several others on the pipeline issue.

“And his response was, I have no legal concerns with adopting it. And I think from a policy standpoint, it is important to let the public know what counties think of this use of eminent domain.”

The Wright County Board of Supervisors meet Monday at 9am at the courthouse in Clarion.
