Incumbent Joshua Meggers Wins Republican Primary Over Jody Anderson in Iowa House District 54

There were a few contested races in Tuesday’s primary election in Iowa that cover parts of the broadcast area from the federal and state level. 

For Iowa House District 54, incumbent Joshua Meggers of Grundy Center won the Republican nomination over challenger Jody Anderson of Iowa Falls. Meggers received 1,218 votes, Anderson received 377. 

Iowa House District 54 covers western Black Hawk County and all of Grundy and Hardin counties.

U.S. Representative Randy Feenstra won his primary Tuesday against Republican challenger Kevin Virgil in Iowa’s Fourth Congressional District. 

Feenstra received 26,763 votes to Virgil’s 17,648. Feenstra will face Democrat Ryan Melton, who ran unopposed Tuesday.
