One Incumbent Falls in Wright County Primary Election Tuesday

After a public measure passed in Wright County in 2022 to increase the number of supervisors from three to five, there will now be five seats up for reelection in November.

There were contested races for the Republican nomination for four of the five supervisor seats in Wright County during Tuesday’s primary election. 

Republican incumbent district one supervisor Rick Rasmussen defeated Greg Schipull 581-569. 

Karl Helgevold, the current district three supervisor, lost the Republican nomination to Ashley Bosch 588-560 for the new district two supervisor seat. 

Lynn Loux won the Republican nomination for the new district four supervisor seat, defeating Richard McDaniel 794-309. 

Betty Ellis won the Republican nomination for the new district five supervisor seat with 556 votes, defeating Todd Foss who had 475 votes and Richard Echelberger with 129 votes. 

Current district two supervisor, Dean Kluss, ran unopposed for the Republican nomination for the district three seat.
