The Hampton-Dumont-CAL softball and baseball teams look to track down a pair of big North Central Conference road wins at Webster City on Monday.

The 2-6 HD-CAL softball team looks to put an end to a four game slide at conference front runner #14(4A) Webster City. The Bulldogs offense looks to re-energize after being limited to four total runs over last four games. Senior Teaghan Bird has been locked in at the plate with a .565 avg. and 13 hits.

Head Coach Kelsey Enslin says utilizing the short game to aid run production and growing as team are focal points going forward.

“I think our lineup this year is pretty dynamic in terms of we have a little more speed than maybe we’ve had,” says Enslin. “Using the short game to execute, and make things happen is definitely something that we’re going to look to going forward. Continuing to grow in our team dynamics and just execution.”

The 7-3 Lynx have one of the top pitchers in conference in senior Delainey Bargfrede with a 1.09 ERA and 76 strikeouts in 45 innings.

The game will air on 104.9 KLMJ with pregame coverage at 7:20 p.m. followed by the first pitch at 7:30 p.m. in Webster City.

Head Baseball Coach Matt Lokenvitz says the North Central Conference has strong pitching and the Bulldogs have to be ready to face Keegan Hisler for the Lynx.

“Day in and day out in our conference it really doesn’t matter who the team is, everybody’s got an ace, everybody’s got good pitching,” says Lokenvitz. “All of them are gonna be tough. We’re gonna go into this week with with Webster City and probably see the the Hisler kid. Keegan Hisler is a really good lefty and throws hard. They’ve been putting together some really good good games as well.

Senior Keegan Hisler leads the 8-6 Lynx in strikeouts thrown, hits and RBI.
