Monday night the Hampton City Council held a workshop meeting and received an update on nuisance enforcement efforts in the city.
Hampton Public Works Director Doug Tarr encouraged the council to explore the area southwest of the library as property owners are making major transformations on houses to abate recent notices that had been sent.
In other business, Hampton City Manager Ron Dunt informed the council more information from State House File 2681 regarding speed cameras that was signed into law in May by the governor.
In it there is a population restriction that cities of 20-thousand or less cannot use a mobile system to issue traffic citations, so Hampton will no longer consider traffic speed cameras.
