Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Field Agronomist Angie Rieck-Hinz tells Radio on the Go News that farmers need to be on the lookout for certain insects in their crops.

“I want people scouting for army worms if you had a cover crop, cutworms, stalk bores in corn and then obviously time to start looking for soybean gall midge on the edge of fields. Now’s a great time to go out there, evaluate your crop, do some crop stands, you know, help make decisions for next year already.”

Rieck-Hinz also says the Northern Research Farm Field Day has been scheduled for June 20th at the south farm located at Kanawha.
