The AGWSR softball team was mismatched defensively in Thursday’s 17-7, six-inning loss at Denver in NICL crossover action.
AGWSR held a brief 1-0 lead after the top of the first, but Denver scored in each inning. They set the tone with four in the first and third, three in the fourth and fifth, and two in the second. The Cougars found some offense with five runs in the fifth to cut the deficit to 13-7. Needing just one run to win in the bottom of the sixth, the Cyclones scored to end the game early. The Cyclones were aided by 12 walks and a home run.
AGWSR (2-15, 0-6 NICL-W) will be at Grundy Center for a doubleheader Monday, a game that’ll air on 99 The Wave.
