West Fork Baseball Eyes Season Sweep against Northwood-Kensett on Friday

The 8-7 West Fork baseball team will look to end the week on back to back Top of Iowa East conference wins as they host Northwood-Kensett on Friday. 

The Warhawks are 1-1 this week with a loss to Riceville on Monday and a 13-7 win over Rockford in conference action on Wednesday. Against Rockford the Warhawks trailed 6-0 entering the 5th, and answered with a late inning rally, scoring all 13 of their runs between the 5th and 7th innings, including a six run 7th to solidify the win. Junior Nolan Shereckengost has earned his share of time on the base pads with a .412 avg. 21 hits in 15 games to lead the team. Senior Edison Maske has provided great support in relief on the mound with 1.97 ERA and 25 strikeouts in 21⅓ innings. 

5-8 Northwood-Kensett enters off a 22-5 win over North Iowa on Tuesday. The Vikings are led by Junior Evan Lorenzen who’s batting with a .409 avg. 18 hits and 13 RBI’s.

The Warhawks won the early season meeting 7-5 on May 24th. 

First pitch is at 7:30 p.m. in Sheffield.
