The #13 (1A) Clarksville softball team went 2-2 at the Fort Dodge Softball Invite on Friday and Saturday.
On Friday, the Indians were defeated by #7 (5A) Ankeny 4-0 and #10 (5A) Ames 10-1. On Saturday, they defeated Mid-Prairie 7-6 and Bishop Heelan 9-2.
Ankeny scored one in the third and three in the fourth while holding the Indians off the board with just three hits. Katie Kampman had two hits. Sydney Lovrien pitched the complete game with one strikeout, three walks, three hit batters and five hits.
Clarksville scored in the fourth inning against Ames, but gave up five runs each in the fifth and sixth innings. Hannah Wangsness had one hit and one RBI. Claire Lodge pitched 4.2 innings with one strikeout, one walk and nine hits.
Against Mid-Prairie, the Indians trailed 6-3 after five innings. But they scored one in the sixth and three in the seventh for the walk-off win. Emmalee Manwarren had three hits; Lodge and Wangsness each had two RBIs. Lovrien pitched the complete game with two strikeouts, one walk, two hit batters and 11 hits.
The Indians scored four in the first and two in the second against Bishop Heelan to take control early. They added three more in the fourth to pull away. Manwarren and Lodge each had four hits; Lodge and Wangsness each had a home run. Lovrien pitched the complete game with seven strikeouts, two walks and seven hits.
Clarksville (10-7, 7-1 ISC) will be at Colo-Nesco Monday at 7:00 p.m.
