19-year-old Jerell Theodore McKnight of Mason City has been charged with attempted murder, a class “B” felony, following an alleged shooting incident Friday about 5pm at MidTown Liquor and Vape, located at 824 North Federal Avenue in Mason City.
Mason City Police say the victim remains in stable condition at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center after receiving multiple gunshot wounds.
McKnight was also charged with being a person ineligible to carry dangerous weapons. He’s being held at the Cerro Gordo County Jail on a 100-thousand dollar cash only bond.
If convicted of attempted murder, McKnight could be sentenced for up to 25 years in prison.
