Much of north central and northeast Iowa was impacted today with outages of broadband, video, certain long distance, and certain cell phone services.

Officials with Dumont Telephone tell Radio on the Go News that there was a power outage at the central hub in Mason City and the standby generator did not start properly which caused the fiber equipment to fail which in turn caused a widespread outage of these services.

The issue has since been resolved and the services have been restored.
