The Dike-New Hartford summer sports team each defeated Union at home Wednesday. The softball team won 11-1 in six innings and the baseball team won 6-5.
In the softball game, Madde Buskohl hit an RBI double to score the first run in the first inning. Faith Gray, Karsyn Nolan and Payton Nolan each batted in runs in the second for a 5-0 lead. Karsyn Nolan and Hanna Steffen each drove in two runs for a 9-1 lead. Buskohl drove another run in and Payton Nolan scored an unearned run to close it out in the sixth. DNH (13-8, 7-3 NICL-C) will be at #15 (2A) Jesup Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
In the baseball game, Conner Dancer started a three-run second inning with an RBI double. Ryan Gudgeon and Colin Meester also drove in runs for a 4-0 lead. The Wolverines gave up three in the fourth, but added an insurance run in the sixth to finish the game. DNH (12-6, 7-2 NICL-C) will be at Jesup Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
