The AGWSR summer sports teams went 0-4 at East Marshall Monday. The softball team fell to the #11 (2A) Mustangs 13-1 in three innings and 12-0 in four innings. The baseball team fell 13-3 in six innings and 8-7.
In the first softball game, the Mustangs scored twice each in the first and third innings and nine in the second. The Cougars scored once in the third. In the second game, East Marshall scored five in the second inning and finished it off with three in the third and fourth. AGWSR (2-23, 0-10 NICL-W) will host Dike-New Hartford Thursday.
In the first baseball game, the Cougars held 1-0 and 2-1 leads after the first and second innings. But the Mustangs took the lead for good with two in the third. They scored three each in the fourth and fifth, and ended the game early with four in the sixth. In the second game, the Cougars fell behind 3-1 after the first inning, but fought back to tie it at 5-5 after the fifth inning. The Cougars took the lead with two runs in the sixth. But the Mustangs scored three in the seventh for the walk-off win. AGWSR (4-17, 2-9 NICL-W) will host Dike-New Hartford Thursday.
