The North Butler and West Fork baseball and softball teams will meet in a rematch and look to level up standing in Top of Iowa East on Tuesday.

North Butler baseball (3-15, 2-12 Top of Iowa East) lost 8-2 at Nashua-Plainfield on Monday and looks to put an end to a seven game slide. The Bearcats on the hill are led by Brody Wangsness who entered the week with a 1.08 ERA and 74 strikeouts(T-1st in the Top of Iowa) in six appearances.

Bearcat Head Coach Chase Stohr says the Warhawks put together a comeback win in game one and the Bearcats need to take care of business to take game two.

“We dropped one earlier in the year, I think we put up six runs on them in the first inning, and then we didn’t score again,” says Stohr. “They ended up, stealing one from us on a bunch of our mistakes. I think every single one of their runs was on us, we made errors and kicked the ball around. They stole one from us, so I know our boys are hungry for another crack at them. We gotta be able to put the ball in play, control what we can control, throw strikes, and play good defense. I like our chances, but it’ll be a good battle.”

West Fork baseball (9-10, 5-6 Top of Iowa East) enters off a 15-0 loss in four innings to Osage on Monday. The pitching duo of Edison Maske and Nolan Shereckengost have tested opponent batting orders entering the week with a combined 45 strikeouts.

The game will air on 104.9 KLMJ with pregame coverage at 7:20 p.m. followed by the first pitch at 7:30 in Allison.
