Tuesday, the Alden City Council held a special meeting and on a 4-1 vote, approved a resolution of formal censure of Mayor Harley Mourlam for failing to adhere to city handbook rules for conduct standards.
The city council formally censured Mourlam for his conduct pertaining to individual involvement with city personnel. The formal censure carries no fine or suspension of the right of mayor as an elected official.
Radio on the Go News reached out to councilmember, Jerry Hartema, who made a motion to adopt and approve the resolution, and Mayor Harley Mourlam, but both declined to comment on the matter.
