The Franklin County Fair Parade will be held on Tuesday, July 9th.

The parade route will be the same as in past years, but Bill Hittle, the Executive Director of the Greater Franklin County Chamber of Commerce, tells Radio on the Go News that due to construction equipment at H-D-CAL High School, the general parade lineup is being moved.

“We’ll be pulling in off of Olive Avenue on the 155th Street/12th Street and going up two wide on the street. And so that’s gonna be the biggest change for everyone is that’ll be there and keep in mind when you’re lining up, there’s not a lot of easy access there. So you need to make sure you get everything you can on your float or built on your float, as many bodies as you can. We’ll have a couple things that maybe help some people that have the mobility issues or some of the heavier stuff to help you get to your floats, but you’re not able to park close to ’em like you have been in years past.”

During the parade itself, Hittle has this reminder.

“Please remember, don’t throw candy from the floats. Don’t throw water balloons from the floats. We actually had someone get hurt by someone throwing a water balloon last year. So please don’t throw any water balloons or candy.”
